On a personal note............

I will be going in for some serious surgery.
Prayers, well-wishing, kind thoughts, or just a friendly "hi", are always welcome here, especially  right now.

Thanks to everyone who I've met through this media for their friendship and good times. Here's to a lot more of it, eh?

  2. Wow! Sorry to hear about this. I sure hope and pray everything goes well, and it ends up not a big deal. I'll get you into the prayer group.

Pretty sure you know how to get in touch with me, my SiGraybeard email is what you'd expect in Google (SiGraybeard at gmail dot com). Let us know how you're doing!

    1. I'm doing well, just got home from a double cervical fusion.
The Lord answered a lot of prayers on this one. I'm already feeling much better.

    2. Excellent! I didn't come back to check until just now. Great to hear it went well.

Back on New Years' Eve, Y2K, my wife and I were out riding out bikes (the pedal-powered kind) and were hit from behind by a small pickup truck. Long story short, she had massive surgery fusing her spine around L1 and spent 3 weeks in the hospital when you include rehab. She's got about a pound of stainless steel in there. Today, she has less pain than before the surgery. Most people get some disk pain as they age; in her case, the surgery "steel reinforced" the problem area and kept the disks from compressing more!

Here's hoping your end up with less pain than normal folks!

    3. This MartialisXIII from the Guild. Just had a 360 Fusion myself, followed by a small "procedure" on my hip last week. Mine also from getting hit by a car. I understand what you mean about the Lord answer prays. The fact I'm still here a testament. I'll say a pray for your family. I know with mine once the swelling went down I felt an immediate change. Good to hear you and your wife are doing better.

  4. Get plenty of rest, and give yourself time to heal properly.

If you're anything like I am, you're going to want to go charging back doing what you were doing, but don't.

Good to hear the surgery went well with no complications!

    1. I'm not in any rush to screw things up, I'm taking it easy.
I have plenty of time to build guns after I heal.

Everything is going along like it should, except for that new appendage growing from my head.
      Just kidding, I'm doing well.

    1. Thanks, Karl. This is my first, and hopefully my last. The procedure was painless as could be and recovery was easy, but I still ain't interested in doing it again if I don't have to. =)

  8. Late to the party and relieved that you are improving.
I know it's going to be difficult to overcome the driving force inside you to pound heated metal into functional things, but take it slow and let yourself recover fully.
    Git well soon!

    1. Thank you, KX.
I'm staying out of the shop until mister doctor clears me to do so. Nothing out there is so important that i want to screw this up.

Bob was talking about another blog shoot soon, not sure where we stand on it.
